Junk Removal in
Station North
Station North is Maryland's first Arts & Entertainment District — the Charles Theatre, the North Avenue corridor, converted warehouses and artist studios strung between Penn Station, MICA and JHU. The jobs match: studio clear-outs, warehouse loads, large-format art and gallery-teardown debris, layered on the usual rowhouse turnover. One flat photo-quoted price for all of it.
Clear-outs built for an arts district
Designated in 2002 as Maryland's first state-recognized Arts & Entertainment District, Station North runs along North Avenue between Penn Station, MICA and Johns Hopkins, anchored by the Charles Theatre. The building stock is a mix — converted warehouses, artist studios, galleries and rowhouses — and so is the junk. A studio doesn't empty out like an apartment: it's old canvases and stretcher bars, sculpture and salvage, half-built large-format work, shelving and mixed material, and after a show there's a whole teardown of display builds, plinths and packing to get gone.
We handle the creative-space work the same way we handle everything else in Baltimore — send a photo, get one flat number covering the labor, the carry, the truck and the dump fee, with no Maryland sales tax on the service. The old warehouses often have freight elevators or roll-up loading doors that make oversized pieces easier, and where a building wants a Certificate of Insurance naming management, we're insured and we file it. On the rowhouse side it's the standard carry to the alley or the permit block. Salvageable material and usable furniture route to Goodwill of the Chesapeake, the Habitat Chesapeake ReStore, or The Loading Dock for building-material reuse — keeping it out of the landfill and, for the studios, out of the way.
What we haul in Station North
- Artist-studio clear-outs — canvases, stretcher bars, sculpture, salvage, shelving and studio furniture, priced from a photo.
- Warehouse & large-format loads — oversized pieces out through freight elevators and roll-up doors.
- Gallery & event teardown — display builds, plinths, broken frames, packing and set pieces after a show or pop-up.
- Rowhouse turnover & move-outs — the arts district still runs on rowhouses, carried to the alley.
Big pieces, tight buildings, event deadlines
The Station North challenge isn't marble steps — it's scale and timing. Large-format art and warehouse furniture are heavy and awkward, and a gallery teardown usually has to happen fast, between a closing and the next install. We price the whole thing flat from your photo so there's no meter running while we wrestle a ten-foot canvas down a stairwell, and we schedule tight when an event deadline is the constraint. Raw build debris — lumber, drywall, broken plinths — hauls as a separate construction-debris load by the cubic yard, kept out of the household stream. And unlike city bulk pickup, which takes three items a month, one Saturday, curbside, booked through 311, we take the whole studio or the whole teardown, from inside, on your timeline.

What Station North customers say
"Gave up my studio off North Avenue and had years of canvases, stretcher bars and a busted worktable to clear. They quoted it flat from a photo, got the big pieces down the freight elevator, gone in an afternoon. Sent the salvageable stuff to reuse."
"We had one day to strike a show at the gallery before the next install. They cleared the plinths, broken frames and all the packing on a tight window, flat price, no drama. Exactly what a small arts space needs."
"Moved out of a rowhouse near the Charles Theatre — couch, mattress, a pile of stuff. No place to park, so they double-parked and carried it out to the alley. Fair flat number, done same day."
