Stairs, Basements and Old Houses
Do stairs cost extra in a Baltimore rowhouse?
No. The basement stair, the third floor and the walk from the back door to the alley are all inside the flat price.
What if something won’t fit down the stairs?
The crew takes it apart — legs, backs, frames, hutch tops. A sofa that truly can’t leave whole is priced as an oversize cut-apart couch at $185, and you’ll see that on the quote first.
Can the truck load from my alley?
Often, yes. Let us know about the rear gate and the alley width when you book, and whether your block has permit parking out front.
Will the crew protect my plaster and railings?
Yes. Tight turns and banisters are padded before heavy pieces move past them.
Pricing
How is my price calculated?
From your photo. Each item is matched to its published Baltimore price, and larger jobs are also priced by how much of the 16-cubic-yard truck they fill. You pay the lower of the two.
What is the smallest job you’ll take?
The minimum order is $75. One standard sofa at $126 or one queen mattress at $103 is already above it.
Is there a charge for booking the same day?
No. Same-day, next-day and next-week bookings cost the same.
Do you add Maryland sales tax?
No. Maryland taxes goods and a closed list of services, and junk removal isn’t on it, so the service carries no sales-tax line.
City, County and Bulk Trash
Am I in Baltimore City or Baltimore County?
Your mailing address won’t always tell you. Many Parkville, Perry Hall, Rosedale and Woodlawn addresses say “Baltimore, MD” but are in the county. The city is an independent jurisdiction, and its trash rules stop at the city line.
How does the City’s bulk trash pickup work?
City residents request it through 311 at least four working days ahead. It’s collected on a designated Saturday, it’s limited to three bulk items a month, and construction materials, auto parts, paint and hazardous items are excluded.
What about the county programs?
Baltimore County, Anne Arundel, Howard, Harford and Carroll each set their own bulk-collection rules. Check your county’s public works department for the current program.
What We Take and Where It Goes
Do you take renovation debris?
Yes — drywall, lumber, cabinets, flooring and demolition leftovers, priced by the piece or by truck-fill and delivered to a facility that accepts construction material.
Can you remove paint cans?
Yes, each priced separately because of the handling: $30 for a one-gallon can and $52 for a five-gallon bucket. Tell us about any other chemicals before the pickup.
Do you remove pianos and cast iron?
Yes. An upright piano is $290, a cast iron radiator $123 and a cast iron tub $185.
Is anything donated or recycled?
Usable furniture is set aside for donation, appliances go to refrigerant recovery and metal recycling, electronics go to e-waste recyclers, and the rest is disposed of at licensed facilities.
Booking
Which areas do you cover?
All of Baltimore city and the towns within about 30 miles — including Towson, Dundalk, Catonsville, Glen Burnie, Odenton, Annapolis, Columbia, Ellicott City, Bel Air and Westminster. The full list is on the Baltimore page.
Do I have to be home?
No. Leave access arranged — a key, a code, an open back gate — and we’ll send photos once the job is finished.
Can you work around Fort Meade or Aberdeen move dates?
Yes. Give us your report or move-out date and we’ll book the pickup ahead of it. Jobs inside a base need gate access arranged in advance.
Can my building get a certificate of insurance?
Yes. Send the building’s COI requirements with your booking and it’s arranged before the pickup date.
